Dear Members, Colleagues, Students, Educators, and Friends,

It is with profound sadness and deep reflection that the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists, Inc. announces that our beloved society will cease operations and formally dissolve after nearly 70 years of service to the radiologic sciences profession.

For close to seven decades, the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists has stood as a pillar of professional growth, education, advocacy, mentorship, and fellowship. What began as a gathering of dedicated professionals grew into a remarkable community that touched thousands of lives throughout Georgia and beyond. Together, we fostered excellence in patient care, supported one another's careers, celebrated achievements, and strengthened the profession we all cherish.

Perhaps one of the most enduring legacies of our society has been the Student & Radiographers Seminar and Educator’s Conference. Generations of radiologic technology students took their first steps into the profession through this event. Many of today's leaders, educators, technologists, and mentors attended the seminar as students, gaining knowledge, confidence, inspiration, and lifelong professional connections. As the society closes its doors, the 'Student Seminar' also comes to an end, marking the conclusion of a cherished tradition that has influenced countless careers.

This decision was not made lightly. The Board has spent considerable time evaluating the future of the organization and exploring every possible avenue to sustain its operations. Ultimately, changing times, evolving professional landscapes, and organizational challenges have led us to the difficult conclusion that we can no longer continue the society's mission in a viable manner.

While this chapter is ending, we hope our members will remember not the closure, but the extraordinary legacy the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists leaves behind. The true measure of this organization is not found in meeting minutes, bylaws, or annual events. It is found in the friendships formed, the students mentored, the professionals empowered, and the patients whose care was improved through the knowledge and dedication of those connected to this society.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every member who contributed their time, talents, and passion over the years. To the volunteers who organized events, the educators who shared their expertise, the students who brought enthusiasm and hope for the future, and the countless leaders who guided this organization through the decades, thank you. Your commitment created a lasting impact that will continue to be felt throughout our profession.

As we say goodbye, we do so with heavy hearts but immense pride. The Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists, Inc. may be coming to an end, but its influence will live on in every professional it served and every life it touched.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your professional journey. It has been our honor and privilege to serve this community for nearly 70 years.
