The May 15, 2021 meeting has been planned as a virtual meeting due to capacity restrictions at potential venues.

A link to register for the Zoom meeting can be found at the top of this page in the Members-only section.

At the May 15, 2021 meeting we will be conducting officer elections.

To hold an office in the Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists, a technologist must be a member of the Atlanta Society for the 2021-2022 society year (This begins June 1), Georgia Society of Radiologic Technologists for the 2021-2022 year, and American Society of Radiologic Technologists for the 2021-2022. GSRT and ASRT don't have fixed society years, so please be sure to check your renewal dates for these two societies.

Please visit the By-laws and Officer Description section of radtechatlanta.wildapricot.org to review the by-laws and the officer descriptions.

We encourage all interested Technologists to self-nominate or nominate a colleague.

We will also allow for time and opportunity at the meeting to take last minute nominations prior to electing officers.

Also at the May 15, 2021 meeting we will have two motions for members to vote on.

Motion 1:

Increase Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists dues for the 2021-2022 Society year by only $5 from $20 annually to $25 annually.

Motion 2:

Increase Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists dues for the 2022-2023 Society year by $5 for the one year membership. This member fee would remain until voted on in the future by the membership.

Rationale:

The current society dues are $20 for 12 CEUs and 3 professional development meetings. Even with the dues increases the value of the education and CEU content provided is far greater. Starting in 2020, lectures are now being submitted for CQR with the ARRT.

The Atlanta Society of Radiologic Technologists took a financial blow due to covid during the 2020 Student Seminar. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 Seminar lost money for the society. This reduced available operational funds significantly.

The current income from member dues does not adequately cover the Society's expenses. There are recurring expenses of maintaining a physical mailbox so that members have an address to send mail to. We still have members who do not use online member renewal options and the mailbox is their only way to renew their memberships. There are also other expenses such as storage facilities used for housing the equipment and supplies needed for the student seminar every two years. Taxes and other government documentation must be filed annually in order to maintain the Society's non-profit status. The Society provides scholarships for both the AtlSRT AND GSRT annually. All of these expenses add up to more than the society is able to bring in in member dues alone.
